PREFACE
The SBi Guidelines include general requirements and recommendations for roofs and roof coverings in accordance with the provisions of the 2018 Building Regulations (BR18) (The Danish Transport, Construction and Housing Authority, 2017).
The guidelines in this book are of a general nature, unrelated to specific building types and applications. The Guidelines cover all topics associated with roofs, including moisture, ventilation, fire, energy, and sound concerns. Some topics are only given a general treatment.
The Guidelines cover subject matters concerning both new builds and renovations, including roof re-insulation.
The Guidelines were compiled by Erik Brandt, Senior Researcher (lead author), Associate Professor Tommy Bunch-Nielsen, and Senior Researcher Martin Morelli.
Furthermore, Niels Samsø Nielsen, architect, assisted with the editorial work.
